A Pucón-based mountain and ski guide with more than three decades of experience across the rock, alpine, and ski-touring terrain of southern Chile.

Andrés began climbing at age ten and has spent more than thirty years guiding rock climbing, alpine objectives, and ski-touring terrain across southern Chile.

A qualified forestry technician with training in botany, he brings detailed knowledge of the region's mountain environments to his guiding. He is based in Pucón and works in Spanish and English.

Credentials

  • IFMGA/UIAGM mountain and ski guide.
  • Member of the Chilean National Mountain Guides Association (ANGM).
  • Wilderness First Responder.
  • Sport-climbing route-setting instructor certified by ENAM and the French Mountaineering and Climbing Federation.
  • Qualified forestry technician with training in botany.

Experience

  • Trained local guides for the Cañi project.
  • Guided Villarrica Volcano for many years.
  • Co-founded Pucón's ski-touring festival.
  • Directs summer operations at Patagonia Huts in Parque Patagonia.
